Happy 19th wedding anniversary, Gilbert and Susan!
Had a fun afternoon at Pays de la Sagouine with Lise, Gilbert & his family. At "Pays de la Sagouine", you are on a real little island called "l'Isle aux Puces" and all the characters in the plays and the characters throughout the park are taken from the books written by Antonine Maillet, who is from Bouctouche.
I just love it there and enjoy hearing the accents. I had been here once before with Colin when he and I came to the Maritimes. It was Robert's first time and though we didn't get to see "la Sagouine" herself, we still very much enjoyed the short theatre acts ("les monologues") and Acadian music.
I even got to be part of one of the acts with "Les Chicaneuses". That was fun!!
Do you want to see Suzie in action? She was so so shy! You can just see it so well in this video!
Between the acts, we ate more Poutine Acadienne and got to taste their famous moonshine "bagosse".
We then went back to Lise and Jeeps' place for a delicious lasagna, chili and salad supper with the wedding cake for dessert.
Thanks again Lise and Jeeps for your great hospitality and yet another wonderful meal!!
