Day 28 - Truro to Annapolis Valley - Mon, July 15

We really enjoyed our overnight stop in Truro, at Scotia Pines Campsite. It gave us a chance to regroup!

Our campsite in Truro

Our campsite was clean and provided full services, including Wifi, so it gave us a chance to catch up on our blog, our laundry, paying our bills, recharging our trailer batteries (being plugged into electrical) and a few other things that needed to be dealt with. Robert even went and had an oil change done on the truck before we headed out.

We only left our campsite in Truro by 3:00 PM or so. Just before we left the outskirts of Truro, we even went and got the truck and front of the trailer hand washed by a couple that runs a great little cash business on a busy Truro street. Great idea! They have a little building that houses the water boiler and their pressure washer. Super nice people! $8.00 for a hand wash. Job well done! We recommend them!

We took the scenic drive (Glooscap Trail) from Truro to Wolfville. Beautiful drive! Great roads for secondary highways! Certainly not always the case on the secondary scenic roads that we have travelled thus far! Sometimes, the scenery is awesome, but the roads are bumpy… still certainly beats the smooth major highways and allows us to see part of the country that we wouldn't get to see at all otherwise!

We arrived at our campsite near Wolfville, at Grand Pré, just an hour or so before my sister Andree and her husband Rene arrived to join us from Halifax (about 1 1/4 hours away). They were coming to camp with us for a few nights.

Suzie and I had just finished taking a dip in the campground pool when they arrived. What a nice refreshing dip on another scorcher of a day! What great weather we've been having here lately!

We had an awesome evening sitting around at the campsite, catching up and eating a great meal that Rene had put together for us, with dessert provided by Suzie. We decided that there was a lot to do the next day, so, even if we were getting to bed late, an early start was necessary for the next morning. We all agreed on getting up at 8:00 AM.
